MEET THE TEAM
Mike Henderson
Hi there! I'm Mike Henderson, Founder and CEO of Black Gay Travelers. With 20+ years of experience as a group travel consultant and having explored over 35 countries, I aim to share these life-changing global adventures!
To achieve this, I created B.A.G. Travel (Black & Gay Travel) - a travel agency for the Black LGBT+ community. We also established local groups in cities like LA, NYC, London, and Atlanta to promote social connections within our community, which now has over 20,000 members worldwide!
Oak Mahavan
Oak is a travel consultant and influencer from Chiang Mai, Thailand. He has visited 40+ countries, has a background in hospitality and marketing, and is our main event host for SE Asia. Fun fact: his grandmother helped pioneer Thailand's tourism industry in the 1970s, establishing it as the force it is today!
Chris & Jim’s Obsidian Vacations
South Africa is a beautiful country perfect for travelers interested in African culture. Experienced traveler Chris (on the right), who co-runs Chris & Jim’s Obsidian Vacations, has explored over 43 countries, including many in Southern Africa. He organizes two types of annual, small-group journeys for the group.
